Non-commensurate and quasi-periodic systems are ubiquitous in solid-state physics such as misaligned van-der-Waals heterostructures or 2D Moiré lattices, optical lattices, quantum chaos and stochastic processes as well as bichromatically driven systems. Usually, the communities are relatively disjunct and separated from each other - nevertheless they are employing related techniques and may benefit from each other.
This Topical Issue is dedicated to combine these different branches of solid-state physics and to take advantage of synergy effects. It aims to collect original research articles, mini-reviews and pedagogical introductions that report recent advances in these areas of active research. There will be a regular referee process before acceptance of the manuscripts.
